Present Continuous

The present continuous is formed using the verb “to be” (present tense) and the base form of the verb with the ING ending added:

Subject + verb ‘to be’ + base verb + ing

Let’s take a look at the Verb “To Be” to get started:

  1. I am
  2. You are
  3. He/she/it is
  4. We are
  5. You are
  6. They are

The base form of a verb is the infinitive form, without the “to” in front.

Examples:

talk
dance
write
study
