Course Description

This is a mini course centered on the present continuous tense. It provides students with an overview of how and when we use this tense and details the different spelling rules to know when forming the correct verb ending. It also covers advanced uses of the present continuous tense.

Course Format

The course is segmented into five lessons, at three different difficulty levels to cater to students according to their proficiency in the English language:

• Introduction (A1 and A2 Levels): Why we use the present continuous tense and an introduction to the affirmative, negative and interrogative forms.
• Forming the Present Continuous (A1 and A2 levels): The verb “to be” and spelling rules for changing the verb endings.
• Planned Activities (B1 and B2 levels): Using the present continuous tense to talk about future activities that have been planned.‍
• Stative Verbs (B1 and B2 levels): What are stative verbs and why don’t we use the present continuous with them?‍
• Advanced Uses (C1 and C2 levels): An overview of 6 other ways that the present continuous is used, with examples.
